The latest numbers reporting ad pages for monthly magazines represent the ninth consecutive quarter of decline, but the first quarter of 2009 also had a much smaller loss than the waning numbers of previous quarters. The Media Industry newsletter reported that 94 monthlies saw a drop in ad pages, while 59 of them saw growth.
