The Department of Communication and Journalism at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J., focuses on preparing students to be successful and effective professional communicators. As such, all students in the program take courses in public speaking, writing for various media, including new media, and fundamentals of video and multimedia production. In addition to those core requirements, students select from six areas of concentration: News-Editorial Journalism, Public Relations, Multimedia Communication, Radio and Television, Graphic Design, and Speech and Interpersonal Communication.
