The Mass Communication program at UNCA is dedicated to providing a broad foundation in the liberal arts to instill creative and adaptive thinking. Mass Communication majors build a universal platform for study through courses in communication theory, media history, media law, and media ethics. All majors study the theory and skills of both journalism and electronic media production before selecting electives to create a course of study in journalism, video production, film studies, advertising, public relations, communication research, or a combination of these traditional fields to meet individual interests and cross-media expertise.
